From the beginning, land surveyants had a unique role to play.

They know how to take care of their clients and they’re going to make sure you get a great deal on the property.

A new survey finds a huge spike in hiring in Ohio for surveyors

OHIO — — A new Ohio survey shows a surge in hiring for surveyor jobs in the state, which is looking for more data on the health and safety of the population.

The new survey from the Ohio State University says more than half of surveyors are hiring in the Ohio area, a state that has had some of the worst air quality in the nation for years.

The survey of nearly 3,000 people was conducted online and will be released Wednesday in a report.

The findings show a jump of more than 50% in surveyor hiring since the end of July, according to the survey.

That’s about 3,500 jobs.

The number of surveyor positions in the Buckeye State is down slightly, but still a big jump, said Steve Vickers, who conducted the survey with his wife and company, SurveyMonkey.

They are looking at data from across the state.

Vickers said Ohio has more surveyors than any other state.

“We were surprised, it’s been pretty much steady,” he said.

The Ohio State survey was done in June.

He said the trend is not just a statewide trend.

He and his company were hiring for more than 10 years in Ohio.

Ohio State says it is not a survey, it is a hiring tool.

Vicks said the state is hiring for data scientists, social workers, and public health specialists.

The company is also looking for people to fill the positions.

The job is filled by an engineer or a statistician, Vickers said.
